We opened Sardine in July 2016 and focus on Southern French cooking over a custom-built charcoal fire.  Sardine is run by Alex Jackson, former Head Chef at Stevie Parle's Dock Kitchen and Rotorino restaurants.

Our 46-cover restaurant is located within the same building as Parasol unit art gallery, and we aim to offer simple, homely, Southern French cooking to the growing communities of City Road, between Old Street and Islington.

We're open for lunch, dinner and drinks throughout the week, and brunch, lunch and dinner at the weekend.  We change the a la carte menus on a daily basis and also host a monthly feasting dinner called La Grande Bouffe.

French flavours will lure us in shoals.

I love Sardine and Alex Jackson's cooking. The food he offers is from Provence and the Languedoc, areas that we haven't been so curious about in the last few decades but I'm thrilled they're back. It's time to revisit. There's still so much to taste.
